For logging food you are better off using MFP. I have my Fitbit synced to MFP for the exercise calories to carry over to here.

Connect your Fitbit to MFP and you have the best of both worlds*. Log food in MFP and log non-step based exercise in Fitbit.

*-when things are working properly, which is rare anymore

I just got a Fitbit for Christmas and I'm trying to figure out what app I like more. I think it'll take a little figuring out because yesterday I was 700 cal under (!!!) but today I'm way over. Confusing.

The first several days your adjustments will be off as it gets used to you. Once it sees how you move, the numbers will become steady.

If you are new to Fitbit, it's very helpful reading the FAQs and relevant threads in the Fitbit Users Group.

    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users

They've answered so many of my Fitbit questions!

This is what I do as well. Works like a charm!
