What are macros? I see people using this term in many posts, related to calories, but am still uncertain of what it means. I asked this question in my own group of friends and no one seemed to know. In fact, someone asked me to let them know when I find out. I'm still kind of new at this healthy lifestyle business. :)

Carbs/Protein/Fat...you want a fairly balanced ratio. My ratio when dieting is 40/30/30...maintaining I do 45/25/30 to keep my protein intake to around 1 gram per Lb of LBM. I get a little more protein when I'm dieting. Everyone should be getting 20-30% of their diet in fat (minimally...more if you are low carb/no carb) and round out the rest of your calories with carbs.
