old workouts that are now your "warmup"

today I went on an easy jog before yoga to warmup. i went 1.5 miles at an "easy" pace of 9:30. I then completed my hot yoga class (pretty vigorous practice). I then remembered only 6 months ago the 1.5 miles alone would have been the workout for my day (would never be able to do yoga after that!) and I would run it at 11:00 pace and be totally winded. I just had to share my joy that what used to be a difficult workout is now only a warmup!

What old workouts do you use as a warmup?

That's fantastic!! Walking a half mile used to be my workout. Now the first quarter mile is my warmup for 1-1.5 miles of faster walking. It's not a huge thing, but it means a lot to me!

I can't testify to complete workouts becoming warmups, but my weight lifting has increased to the point where my old 1RM (one-rep-max, the most you can lift a single time) has become a very easy 10-rep warmup on multiple lifts, most especially bench and squat. In fact, when I started lifting a few years ago I could barely squat 135 a single time; a couple months ago, I squatted 135 for 100 reps in a single set.

135 lb squats for a warm up. I remember when I started with just the bar (45 lbs) for my actual workout.
