Carb cycling is a tool used for people with very low body fat percentage to lose even more body fat for fitness and bodybuilding competitions. Unless you are a guy in single digit BF percentage, or a woman at or below 15% body fat, you do not need to carb cycle. Just eat at a 20% deficit from TDEE and hit protein and fat macro minimums and you will lose weight.0

Your ticker says you have over 100 pounds to lose. If that is the case, it is more important to find out how your body responds to carbs. A good amount of people with 100 pounds to lose do not respond to carbs well and eating too many carbs could destroy your metabolism and cause real harm to your body. You need to get a fasting glucose test or A1C test from your doctor before you proceed. If you want to save money, go to Walgreens and get a blood glucose meter for 10$. Eat high carb meal and test 2 hours after the first bite. A high glucose number or a number close to the one in the manual means that your body responds better to a low carb diet.0

Chris Powell on extreme weight loss has his contestants do this program...the one guy lost 112 lbs in 90 days..over 200 in one year0

Carb cycling is always used by trainer Chris Powell on Extreme Makeover Weight Loss for extremely obese people and they drop like crazy, so while some bodybuilders might use it like you say, it seems also to work very well for heavily overweight. Evidence of this is on multiple seasons of the show where people have dropped 100+ pounds in less than a year.0

Carb cycling is no different than a normal caloric deficit, despite what anyone on this website will tell you.
A caloric deficit is how you lose weight.0 -
