I'm 4' 11", 39 years old and a newbie lifter.
I'm curious as to what weights you ladies out there are lifting and how long it took you to get there.
I'm in my 5th week, having never lifted more than a shopping bag, and this is where I'm at:
8 reps x 3 sets
Leg Press - 110lb
Dumbbell Row - 14lb
Diagonal Wood Chops (cable) - 20lb
Dumbbell Shoulder Press - 2 x 8lb
Lat Pulldown - 35lb
Have had a bit of help with form (bad back so wanted to make sure I was doing it right) and will be starting Squats and Deadlifts next week.

As people start posting their weights I just wanted to make sure to remind you that everyone's strengths are different and it's important not to compare yourself to others. How much you lift and how much you progress are goals you set for yourself and not anyone else :-) I only say this because I started to get discouraged when I couldn't lift what other people did and since you're new I didn't want you to get discouraged either! My upper body is stronger than most women's but my lower body (especially squats) are less than most.
Good luck and welcome to lifting, you'll love the results!!!0 -
I'm 5'6", 33 and I'm a newbie as well. I started lifting 3 wks ago.

I know I should be doing squats, but I'm just too fat!! I'm trying to work away some belly fat before I incorporate them. :happy:0 -
Been lifting on and off for years. In May 2013, I did a 5k and was not training with weights too much. June 1st, 2013 I started a heavy lifting cycle. Here are my latest numbers
Bench: 115lbs, 4 sets x 6 reps
DL: 135lbs, 4 sets x 6 reps
Oly Squat, 135lbs 4 sets x 6 reps
