40 at the end of January - setting myself a half a stone target! :)

So, as I said i'm 40 at the end of January (26th to be precise) and when I entered my 30's, I told myself i'd make sure I went through that decade being in my best shape! Although it's not quite worked out like that, I do now run a bit (i'm slow and only do about 4 miles at a time but when I turned 30, I literally struggled to run for a bus!)

Weight wise, i'm currently 10 stone 1lb (5 ft 2) and have recently lost the best part of a stone through eating smaller portions and being more aware of what i'm having - that said, if I really want it, i'll have it and that works for me. I think finally i've found my way to success this way - as the word 'diet' has me reaching for the biscuit tin lol....

When I turned 30, I was 8st 7 and actually for me, that was too small (I remember my weight well, as I got married on my birthday and my wedding dress (a size 10) needed taking in a the bust!! ) - so eventually i'd like to get to about 9 stone, but am going to set myself a target for my birthday of 9st 8lb, so half a stone.

I hope i'm able to continue the way I have been and also going to get back to the running club after quite a few weeks off!

Anyone want to join me? Or offer me some sensible tips for losing weight when you don't have too much to lose (always harder to shift the last stone!)
