I am a vegetarian trying to lose weight! I used to eat meet but recently got married and decided to join my husband on his vegetarian life style.. for me that means replacing chicken with cheese. All my dinner options are pastas…pizzas.
I need help with healthy TASTY and vegetarian recipes please! As both my husband and I need to lose a few pounds.

Could you eat beans? Green leafy lettuce? Whole wheat pasta instead? Brown rice? Red peppers? broccoli?0

My husband is a vegetarian (he also eats fish) and I usually only eat chicken and fish most of the time We have a set meal schedule for the week, just because it makes it easier for us to shop/prep dinner.
Monday: Salad / Veggie Couscous stuffed portabella mushrooms / Veggie (broccoli, asparagus, etc.)
Tuesday: Salad / Baked fish / Veggie Couscous leftovers
Wednesday: Salad / Morning Star Black bean burgers / Sweet Potato fries / Veggie
Thursday: Salad / Soft bean tacos / Rice / Veggie (broccoli, sweet potatoes, etc.)
Friday: Salad / Vegetable Casserole
Saturday: Salad / Sushi / Soup
Sunday - Free day/whatever we want/maybe order in-out (pizza, Chinese, Italian, etc.)0 -
Thank you xx
He doesn't eat fish or egg but I'm going to stick some quorn in there0 -

Add some veggies. Seriously.
I've personally found that trying to just sub in a vegetarian protein source for your old slab of meat generally turns out hugely unsatisfying.
Some of the dishes I do:
Bean chilli; palak paneer (heavy on the spinach); other curries with paneer, chickpeas, or TVP; moussaka; stir fries with tofu (dry fried tofu rocks); stuffed capsicums; beetroot and chickpea flour crepes filled with vegetables and brie; okonomiyaki; vegetable stews with cheesy vegie mash
(can give you recipes for a few, but I'm very much an improv cook, so my recipes are mostly 'add a suitable amount of carrots and cook until it's done' sort of affairs).
Some of my favourite food blogs for inspiration (I often modify for more protein, less fat): smittenkitchen.com/, greenkitchenstories.com/recipe-index/, cookieandkate.com/, thegardengrazer.com/p/recipes.html, vegrecipesofindia.com/ (generally modify these heavily for more vegies, less fat, more protein)0 -

Not getting much protein that way. Think legumes. Here are vegetarian recipes featuring beans or lentils: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipe/search/ ?f[0]=field_special_diet:25&f[1]=field_recipe_main_ingredient:7890 -
Chicken -> Cheese = replacing lean protein with fat. What you need is to find a replacement that's a lean protein.0

I got some great suggestions here:

This is delicious, I make it often (for a veggie main) - black bean chili

Also love this - chana masala (chickpeas)

Start trying some recipes with vegetarian protein like tofu, tempeh, or seitan. Gardein is my favorite frozen brand but that gets expensive quick. I recommend theppk.com for recipes.0
