My grand experiment to make it through December - The interment fast result is in!

I decided to try interment fasting to get through the holidays. The deal with myself was track food and exersize as usual but allow for days off to enjoy the special occasions of the season- food and all.
The only thing I required of myself was to stick to a 18/6 schedule- 18 hours fasting- 6 hour window for eating. I had lost 20 lb prior to the experiment and my goal was to maintain at worst and hopefully lose as I still have a ways to go. So this us what happened:
I was able to stay with a calorie deficit about half the days but I stuck to the 18/6 time frame.
Through the holidays- visit to my family-2 dinner parties that I enjoyed the food and desserts, trip to the "big city" to shop - had a gut buster dinner, and once out to Pizza.
IF is working for me as a tool for maintaining some control-all my life I have struggled with my weight. Always 25 lbs too heavy or in a few times of extreme stress-10 under- never in control.
So in spite of not always maintaining a calorie defect I have lost 1 lb. Not much but I didn't gain. This may be - for me-an answer to a life long issue- work out- log when I can- but when one of those tools is less than perfect the daily fast is there for continuity.
Long status but for those interested in my Dec experiment- I think it worked and I am going to keep doing it indefinitely.
I would love to hear your experience and thoughts about IF.

Cool, thanks for sharing! After my experience with the holidays this year (first time actually tracking calories), I'm thinking of trying an IF strategy as well.0
