Please help!!

My local running shop just called me to tell me the Asics Gel Kayano that I ordered isn't available until March. I also tried on the Addias Ultraboost and he ordered that for me to try in my size. I've always run in the Kayano's and I'm nervous to make a switch does anybody have any input?

My average run is approximately 3-5 miles and I run 3 times a week. Not currently training for anything but will probably do a half in the fall of 2016.

Thoughts?

I ran in the same shoes forever and only recently switched to a different model (same brand though). It can be good to switch it up sometimes, as long as the shoe fits and gives you adequate support. You can try the Adidas, or you can order a pair of Kayanos online since they won't have them for so long at the store. Then buy a second pair when they have them in stock again.

I'd suggest asking the running store folks. If you run in Asics and that variety works well for you, ask them what's comparable in terms of support and your gait.

This. I switched things up without really paying attention to what worked for me and gave myself a year + break from running due to a flare up of plantar fasciitis. Soooo, not fun. I wasn't running a lot (maybe 5-8 miles/week more than you) and it took running totally off the table for me. Ask the shoe people. They'll have a recommendation.

    Thanks everyone for your responses!

I will defer to the experts at the shoe store.

    Thx,

shoes change over time. they make adjustments even in the same style of shoe.
i read an article once that said one of the biggest mistakes runners make is brand loyalty.
go with the shoe they recommend

Just purchase the ones you tried to get from your running store on Amazon or Zappos and don't worry about having to switch shoes :-)

Mizuno discontinued the shoe I had been wearing, so I just told the sales person at my running store what I'd liked about it and got fitted for a few comparable ones and got the one I liked best. They also have an excellent return policy.

I loved the Gel Kayano. Now I run in NB trails. A little lighter but the switch was fine for me.
