Massive weight loss/gain overnight?!

Hi!
I've been having this issue for the past few weeks. According to my scale, I will either gain or lose about 4 lbs overnight. I weigh myself every morning as part of a diet program my doctor has me on. Anyway, I know weight fluctuations are normal, but this seems a bit extreme, no matter if its a loss or gain! I used another scale; same issue! This doesn't happen every day, but often enough for me to be weirded out about it.

Has this happened to any one else? Is this normal?

I generally lose 1 to 2 lbs overnight. I always figured it is normal.

Yes, it's normal. Some folks fluctuate 5 or more pounds regularly.

Weight isn't static and yes thats normal. There could be dozens of reasons why you go up and down. If you're going to be a daily weigher you should look into apps that track weight trends like libra or happy scale. As long as the weight continues to trend down it makes the fluctuations bearable imo.

Another note is, if you can't handle the extremes of up & down daily weighing maybe it's not right for you.

Perfectly normal. My weight varies up to 5 lbs within 24 hours. As others have said, look for a trend in the direction you are trying to move. (And stick to weighing yourself the same time every day - there will still be fluctuations, but likely smaller ones.)
