I always wonder what the most wanted body shape women or men want. I have the straight long waisted shape. I find it hard to keep a waist line. My hip bone structure is very slight. I always wish I could have actual hips. What shape do you feel is the best?

Fortunately we don't have to date ourselves! I would say an hourglass would be the most desirable woman's shape because like you I have one of those straight up and down shapes. My husband on the other hand thinks slim hips are cute and likes long athletic legs and a nice rack more than curvey-curves. There's a lid for every pot!

tavistock. I personally like the hippy bone structure. However many many people hate me because I have quite slim hips. I in line at the store seeing the female hippy look and want it for myself. I don't think women with hips understand what a draw they have. I know if I gained in my hips and thighs I would be 20 pounds heavier.
  • This won't end well :/
Everyone wants some other feature. I wish I could donate my breasts to another woman lol. I don't think my 2 year old would like that though (who's still breastfeeding). Maybe don't focus on what shape you desire and focus on perfecting the shape you were given:)

Kissed... I am doing just that. I am doing what I can to keep a waist line. When I was in the best condition of my grown up life I had a 32 inch hip. I am heavier now and still have a narrow hip. The waist line try's to fill in.

Different people like different shapes and many don't give them a thought. I don't have much of an indent at my waist either and the only thing that bugs me about it is how hard it is to find pants that fit well. Many jeans brands now have curvy fit styles for women who have the opposite of my curves (wider hips/thighs, narrower waist.) Maybe someday they'll make some more (flattering) styles to fit my body shape.

    I like my shape

The shape I want though has a penis ...I don't have one of those, that doesn't mean I want to have one just that's what appeals to me

I am like the one on the upper left but less buttocks and more waist. I have 3 inch smaller waist than the hip. This causes me a cholesterol problem. Like jemmhn said it is hard to find clothes with my shape. The waist fits and then the hips look like ridding *kitten*. This makes me have to find hip hugger at the age of 59. The thing I like is I look taller than the 5"2' that I am.

I want fluffier hair. We don't always get what we want. And some one out there will always want what we have.

You realize there is not one body type that suits all clothing right?

Some styles look better on slim hips, some on bigger hips. Some look better with a bigger chest, others, not so much.
    We all have those problems
And many want what they can't have. I wish I had curly hair, but I don't. My best friend hates her curls and pines for straight hair. The grass is always greener something something something.

The body shape I think is best is the one I was born with and that I have now. :)

I like my body shape because it's mine (I am small with a curvy booty). And I like all different shapes of women because they are beautiful in all different ways and I like the variety. And I like handsome men that are reasonably fit, no particular shape, as long as they can easily lift me in many different positions and hold me up with ease for however long needed. Mostly I notice people's faces.

I like my shape. I'm fairly hourglass. I think everyone has issues with finding the right clothing. I have a hard time finding shirts, & dresses are nearly impossible because I am larger than average on top. Jeans & pants are a challenge. I need curvy cut because my hips are much wider than my waist, but I have no booty. I'm also short, 5' 2", but I have long legs for my height & a short torso.

Sometimes it's hard because there are just things that I think are nice, but I know they would not suit me at all. I've learned what shapes are most flattering for me & I know that I have to try on a bunch of stuff before I'll get anything that will fit right. It's part of why I hate going shopping. Generally, I just stick to the thrift shop. I try not to let my dissatisfaction with clothes translate into a dislike of myself.

I like friendly, funny, quirky personalities with a good splash of intelligence and calm thrown in.

The wrapping can be a number of things, but if I don't like what's inside, even the most perfect wrapping means nothing.

I am a stick insect, no butt, no waist, no boobs, but it hasn't stopped me being attractive to a bunch of people over the years.

    We are what we are.

    Cheers, h.

    This.

In my modeling days, I had an "ideal" body shape. For modeling clothes that is. And STILL, lots of sample sizes didn't fit properly. Ever notice that most mannequins have a clip tailoring their "fitted" top at the back? That happens at real life photo shoots too. Or we angle our bodies to hide the wrinkles made by clothes, or the fact that pants are too short. We used tape, pins and silicone enhancers at shows, and print ads were always photoshopped. Believe me, nobody fits all clothing styles.

I find many different body shapes beautiful, including long and straight, and I've drawn a lot of naked people, so I would know.

Guy opinion here. OP, if you are 59, have a slim figure and that is a recent photo then I bet you are a knockout. Don't worry about what you don't have, rock what you have.

Yes, I have noticed that. When I go to a store and everything is too big. I say, but how does it fit those mannequins. So, I peaked and saw that the clothes are clipped on around the waist.

Really??? Are you sure that's the cause? Could be. I've just not heard of that before. I do know that carrying around excess weight around your middle can cause health problems, but it doesn't look like you have excess weight, just different proportions (as we all do).

There's no 'one' body shape that men find attractive. Personally speaking, I find it most attractive when a woman confidently rocks whatever body shape she happens to have. Confidence trumps all... :)

BAZH yes carring weight in you middle/ being Apple shaped is very bad for your health. When I put on any weight at all I am round like a beach ball a. I weigh 106 and have cholesterol problems. Weight in the hips and thighs is much healthier.

Bennett I get people thinking I am extra thin and hating me for it. I have had gym friends be amazed that my look different with my clothes on. I hate people hating me for being extra thin when I am not thin in the way they are thinking. I show no ribs. Yes I am small because I have small bone. Binary you look to be one of those small bones people like I am. I feel your pain.

Yes, I definitely agree. I love my body the way it is. And I would feel the same whatever body I have because that would be my body. And there is no logical reason for there to be one ideal body type. Bodies are beautiful, all different types in different ways.

Yeah, I have a very small bone structure. Small shoulders, rib cage, waist. But, I am curvier in my butt and thighs. My hips/booty is 11 inches bigger than my waist.

Being apple shaped does not cause high cholesterol. Being apple shaped and having cholesterol problems are risk factors that indictate higher chances of heart attack and stroke.

I have small breasts with huge hips and thighs, so I call myself "raptor shaped." I don't care if other people think I'm attractive because I know Chris Pratt would think I'm a clever girl and that's all that matters.

Yes, middlehaitch nails the right idea again. For me, adult thinking/behavior, intelligence, kindness, continuous positive growth & change.

But if we must talk about the physical: Capable, functional shape. (I'm not criticizing people with true physical challenges, I'm saying I admire people who make what they have work as well as it reasonably can.) Healthy is good, to the extent a person has control over maximizing it.

I apply that to myself as well: I like my thinner self more, because I'm more capable, and healthy, and feel like I've changed in a positive way. I like my body fine, and now that I can feel the muscles moving under my skin (not hidden under fat rolls), I like it very well indeed. (I didn't hate fat me, however.) I don't aspire to have kind of body that isn't (can't be) my body.

I too have relatively narrow hips (no booty), not much waist indent, literally no breasts (bilateral mastectomies from stage III breast cancer 15 years ago, no reconstruction), broad shoulders, Einstein-ian naturally curly blue-gray hair. I'm strong, and am working on getting stronger. If no one else likes me this way, s***w them, their loss - I'm pretty darn good.
