Homemade peanut butter

I have 2 bags of Spanish peanuts. I do not like peanuts, but I like peanut butter. (I know this makes no sense... But eh whatever)

Does this type of peanut work for peanut butter? Anyone have a good sugar free recipe they wanna share? I've never done this before.

Also..assuming the calories are the same regardless of if the peanuts are butter or whole?

You can make peanut butter from any roasted peanut. Ideally unsalted. If you have a high power blender (Vitamix or the like) add 3 cups of peanuts and process on high for 1 minute. On a regular blender ( you still need a good blender) do 2 cups peanuts and add ½ cup peanut or canola oil to start the blending. Refrigerate overnight, mix, bring back to room temperature and pour off excess oil. You WILL wreck a bad blender (and make a mess). Check the manufacture web site to make sure your blender can cope. Calories are the same as the ingredients (if you want to be really precise measure the oil you pour off and deduct from total calories).

I've made it without any oil. I just put the peanuts (or almonds) in the blender and let it blend until creamy. I don't add honey or other sweeteners. So delicious!

Thank you! I have a magic bullet or one of those bullet ones. Should work.

OK.. I was just peanuts would work... I don't like all the additives.
