Exercise Calories

I workout 2 hours per day. Combination strength training and cardio. My goal is to lose last 10-12 lbs, lean up and increase strength and endurance for a technical mountain expedition in Sept/16.

Should I be including my exercise calories in my total calorie count? My goal is 30-30-40 (protein-fat-carbs).

There is a workout style called high intensity training. Less time but potentially great results. I'd give it a look.

Thx! I do HIIT at least 2x/week. It definitely is a good addition to any workout. Thx for the feedback.

50% seems reasonable. The HIAL I guess is to ensure you keep your macro targets for the additional 50% versus adding a bunch of carbs.

Eat them back and monitor your weight over a few weeks to check that the guestimator of calorie burn you are using matches your body. You can then adjust a little if required. You may want to adjust your macros a little when you do big sessions to give yourself a bit more carb to fuel the session and keep the protein high if you are in deficit. Good luck , sounds like you are going to kill it :-)

After a few weeks of consistent logging extrapolate your burn from the data you collect from MFP and eat that back. Until you have that info eat back 59-75%.

    Cheers, h.
