It's all about staying in shape even if we get older. Some of us have health issue that limit what we can do. Would love to hear about the goals we set as we age.

OK I went through the hoops to read your profile. So if you've been advised against any kind of lifting you should concentrate on bodyweight exercises and progression over time, but ideally under a physio guidance who understands your medical conditions

There are a number of programmes out there that you could adapt eg

You are your own gym https://www.marklauren.com

Water based exercise can help protect joints

    Follow your dietary advice

Yes, the key is patience, persistence and progression. Start with something you can handle and slowly work up in either weight, reps or duration. Set manageable goals and stick with it.

Rowing. Just bought a machine, and I absolutely love it. Done two loads of 30 minutes a day through the holidays and have lost 2kg already. Have been using my fitness pall and pacer for a while, so my walking has increased, but whilst I have started eating better and walking more, I still love a few beers. So while the weight have been coming off a bit, the best way and healthiest way as far as i am concerned is to get a sweat on 30 minutes a day.

I read something interesting the other day. When you think of people with busy jobs, who do all sorts of things every day, and then think of yourself. The one thing you will never regret is a workout. So, for a low impact, but really good work out, rowing is the one for me.....
