Happy New Year!
Just turned 56 and ready to commit to getting fit again. I have 50-60 lbs to lose and would love to share this journey with someone moving in a similar direction. I have been athletic and outdoorsy all my life, but got bogged down with work, etc these past 10 years and packed on the pounds.
Anyone out there in a similar situation and looking for an accountability partner?
Cheers,
T

I'm turning 37 next week (so not in my 50's yet), but I definitely understand - I had the same scenario... I went from a very physically fit lady to obese over the course of about 10 years.... for me, it was having kids and getting out of the military. I joined MFP, and have lost and kept off more than 70 pounds. You've got this. Welcome to MFP! :flowerforyou:0

Greetings from the farthest tip of the coastal area in Oregon! (hint Ft Stevens is 5 minutes away) I belong to a great group of ladies on here. The thread is http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10304625/women-ages-50-for-january-2016#latest
You are welcome to join in. No adding your name to anything. Just start yacking:-) Its not a group or anything. We don't have dues, or have to sign a waver....Its ladies all over 50 from all over the world. We talk about daily struggles, some are maintaining their goal weight, and others like me, are at the beginning part of the journey. Are you dealing with the rain ok where you are? Our area is fine, because its mostly sand anyway. Seaside floods a bit but they are used to it.0 -
Hello Annr!
Yes, I found that discussion group pretty quickly and have posted a couple of times
Very cool group.
I'm in Corvallis. Overcast today and cold-41 degrees. We just getting ready to go for a hike in the OSU research forest. So lucky to have miles of trails nearby.
I love Seaside! I've only been there twice. Once was a couple years ago when I was on a team for Portland to Coast and we ended there.
Thank you for your kindness in reaching out and I hope to chat more!
