Hey all. After having children 11 months apart 2013 & 2014 I had put on serious weight! From a size 10 to 16! I started training after but kept struggling to keep it up.. tierd all the time my progress was slow and frustrating, I was struggling with my breathing and a persistent cough I had from 2010 was getting worse. After getting checked out i was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and since 2015 Nov I've been on Chemo and rather than lose weight I've put it on from the steriods and lack of exercise. I did at the start eat well, juice and run determined not to let the big C stop me and my fitness goal but the more Chemo I have the harder to continue my fitness goal till i stopped completely and the weight has piled on. However I've decided that although I can't run right now or go on a full on diet I can in a slow and healthy way lose 1 lb a week & walk to fitness, juice and eat well.. I am determined to shift a little weight so when my treatment ends in March (fingers crossed) i am in a better position to push forwards and train hard to finally get back to the fit chic I used to be.

So after my long ramble if anyone else Is on a mega Journey too do get in touch it would be good to motivate eachother :)

I have a friend who went on a fitness journey while undergoing chemo and radiation treatment. It was very hard on her, but for her peace of mind, she stuck to it. Good luck, and may your treatment end on time. :flowerforyou:

I am so proud if you for continuing to battle for health when things can seem so overwhelming. I am walking alongside my mom as she goes through chemo and desires to lose weight and become fit as well. It's good to have goals, we want to be healthy for the gift of life ahead. Blessings, don't give up!

Good for you. When I went thru chemo I also chose to work out and keep my energy up....except for 2 days after chemo I was tired. You are strong and I am here for you on your journey.

Have your doctors (oncology team) approved your plan for weight loss during treatment? My concern comes from the idea that the disease and treatment are both stressful mentally & physically, and weight loss can be another physical stress. When I was doing chemo & radiation for breast cancer, I was encouraged to be active (within limits of fatigue) and eat healthfully (with certain restrictions), but told *not* to lose weight. Maximizing health seems like the best goal, at a time like this, but everyone faces different constraints and contingencies so that can mean different things in different cases. I wish you well as you make your way through this challenge, and beyond!
