About a month ago, I got serious about getting my Type2 diabetes under control. I joined the local Y and have been doing regular cardio (treadmill and bike). The other day I started strength training, and quickly discovered that my arm muscles are made of sawdust and marshmallow fluff.
I've been eating sensibly, and watching the carbs, but not really tracking my calories. As I haven't been losing weight, I decided it was time to look more closely at my eating. DLed MFP this morning, and I think it will make a big difference for me. I'm also hoping to find some support for this journey. According to the BMI tables, I need to lose about 30 pounds just to get out of the 'obese' category and down to merely 'overweight'. I don't have a hard and fast goal weight. I want to be healthy and to buy clothes in a regular (not plus) size. Beyond that? I'll see...
