Getting started

About a month ago, I got serious about getting my Type2 diabetes under control. I joined the local Y and have been doing regular cardio (treadmill and bike). The other day I started strength training, and quickly discovered that my arm muscles are made of sawdust and marshmallow fluff. :)

I've been eating sensibly, and watching the carbs, but not really tracking my calories. As I haven't been losing weight, I decided it was time to look more closely at my eating. DLed MFP this morning, and I think it will make a big difference for me. I'm also hoping to find some support for this journey. According to the BMI tables, I need to lose about 30 pounds just to get out of the 'obese' category and down to merely 'overweight'. I don't have a hard and fast goal weight. I want to be healthy and to buy clothes in a regular (not plus) size. Beyond that? I'll see...
