Allrecipes.com v MFP - Calorie Count
I know calorie counts can differ by a little, but this one wasn't a little.
I made the Honey-Garlic Slow Cooker Chicken today. Allrecipies.com says its 325 calories per serving. When I add on to MFP using the web link to add it to my recipes, it came up as 492 calories. That's a big difference!
If you get a big difference like that, what is the more accurate one you would go by?

The big problem I have with allrecipes, specifically chicken, is that nowhere could I find what allrecipes considers "one chicken breast" - i.e. how many grams of chicken are they considering? Chicken breasts aren't all one size, particularly if some people are trimming off the tenders and others not.

I'd assume mfp is the more accurate. Ever more so if you're weighing the ingredients and entering accurate quantities into the recipe0

I always just input recipes into MFP instead of following what my book or website says- sometimes you really have to watch the matches for ingredients that MFP makes though when you import a web recipe. For example, it always gives me some crazy high calorie match for garlic, when I know that a clove of garlic is a negligible calorie amount.0

Yeah I think there's a 2,200 calorie banana sitting in the database, too. Almost hit the roof with how many calories it thought were in my banana cake recipe0

The match algorithm also believes that stevia is cauliflower. That was the most bizarre match it has come up with for me.0
