Okay for real this time...

I actually joined this site in 2013 but haven't logged consistently. I did fine as long as I could exercise like a mad woman, but in the back of my mind I knew I was just trying to outrun a lousy diet. Well this year it finally caught up with me. A series of injuries kept me from working out like I had been, and in the past 5 months I have put 25 pounds right back on. At my heaviest I was 245 pounds, and last spring I was maintaining around 168. I had hoped to get down to about 158-160 or so, but instead here I sit back at 193.

So now I'm getting serious about this. I will exercise moderately and regain the fitness I've lost, but more importantly I will focus on my diet. Slow and steady, I didn't gain it overnight, I won't take it off overnight either!

I tend to be a little anti-social, internet wise anyway. I figure if I started posting and participating a little bit I may have a little more success. So if being friends with a somewhat crabby middle aged lady who likes dogs more than people has any appeal to anyone, or if any of you are, in fact, very smart dogs who have somehow joined MFP, then please add me as a friend!

I'm guessing you had your goal set to losing 2 pounds per week. Many of us start out that way and feel that we have to do tons of exercise just to get enough to eat. When I set my goal to losing a pound per week it took the pressure off and made it easier to stick to, even when I couldn't exercise.

    Good luck!
