Thinking about mixing my whey protein into my oatmeal. Anyone try this yet? Wondering if I should.

I do this whenever I have oatmeal. Works well.0

I've done it. It ends up ok, nothing earth shattering.
The thing to watch for is that whey will clump and make an unpleasant curdle if it comes in contact with hot water while still a powder, so you might want mix the whey in well before heating the oatmeal or make sure to combine the whey with water before put into the oatmeal if you've already made the oatmeal.0 -
I make steel cut oats in a rice cooker and mix the powder and some berries in after. Usually there's enough extra water that it's not an issue; sometimes I add a bit more water. It mixes pretty easily.0

I mix the powder with some milk before adding it to the oatmeal0

My oatmeal mix up is pretty good: a scoop of protein energy (cap and chocolate are good, never tried vanilla), tbsp of almond butter, tbsp of coconut oil and tsp of cinnamon. Sometimes I'll add nutmeg but all in all it totals out to be about 400 calories depending on the type of almond butter you use (buff bake brand is good but has more than just almond butter... 423 calories for that stuff being used).0

I have tried countless proteins in oatmeal and I will tell you that you're going to find some that taste God awful. if you want to good one off the bat the protein energy by optimum nutrition is pretty bomb but I would ask supplement shops and reps for protein samples0

My favourite oatmeal includes this. I especially like using a protein powder that contains casein, so it gets really creamy. But as long as you start with a protein powder you like, it should be fine.
What I do: cook steel cut oats in water the night before. I do this because I don't have time in the morning, and it is thicker being reheated, which I prefer. In the morning, I add a large spoonful (about 50g) of plain greek yogurt and around half a scoop of protein powder to about 200-250g of cold cooked oatmeal (I'm not really sure what that is in volume, sorry... I just log it all by weight). Then, I press in some frozen raspberries and heat it all up in the microwave. When it's hot, I sprinkle about half a tablespoon of mini chocolate chips on top, let them get melty, and stir just enough so that the chips streak through.
Absolutely delicious, under 300 calories, hits my chocolate fix, and is pretty balanced with the macros if your yogurt isn't 0%. It also keeps me full several hours!0 -
I like vanilla p-powder with oatmeal and cold cereal.

Used to do that when I was still eating oatmeal. Don't do inflammatory grains anymore, so no more oatmeal.0
