Hello! My name is Ang, and I am 34 years old. All my adult life I have been obese, although I have lost quite a bit of the weight a few times, only to gain it back.

A few months ago, I stepped on the scale and was shocked by the number. 283 pounds! Months prior I had been 252. What happened?

I know what happened. It's the same thing that has happened since I gained the weight as an adult - I stopped caring about me.

I decided, that day on the scale, to make myself a priority. To kick-start my effort, I did a 21-day cleanse as recommended by my chiropractor. I was able to drop a bit of weight as a result of the cleanse (the 21st day was Christmas Eve, so it helped me avoid any holiday gain). I also hired a personal trainer to help me with some weight routines, and began using the elliptical a few days per week.

I have been off the cleanse now a couple of weeks, and have been doing a good job making healthy choices (with the occassional guily-free treat, of course), which is helping me lose unwanted pounds.

I am having a hard time discussing this with anyone besides my husband, who is on this journey with me. All of our friends are super athletic and thin, so talking to them about weight loss and any associated frustrations/challenges/etc is difficult.

So, I am looking for others who are entirely committed to a healthy lifestyle that would like to join me on my journey. We can provide encouragement and support for one another; this journey is going to be a tough one! Let's make it easier by supporting one another!

Hi there. I know what you mean about having a hard time talking to folks...sharing your frustrations with somebody who looks like they have just completed their 2nd marathon of the day just doesn't help me!
Good luck on your journey - you have made the most challenging step - getting started!
