Hello from Ottawa,
My wife and I started using MFP again this month as I learned over the past couple years (experts at local gym) that 70% of weight control is calories In calories Out. I have belonged to a great gym and love it, (interval training type), however although it builds muscle, tones body and strengthens core it does actually cause weight issues if you tend not to get to the gym on a regular basis, (what ever I interval that might be). For me that's been 2-3 days per week.
Yes, the gym burns more calories off, however your body then demands more calorie intake, so it can become a complicated balancing act if your not aware or disciplined enough. The gym can actually become demotivating if you don't see the Lbs reduce after putting in all that hard work.

Physical fitness = 10% genetics + 20% exercise + 70% Nutrition

Looking forward to the community approach to help stay on track with MFP to keep calories in balance.
