Hi everyone! I need some help trying to determine how many calories I should be consuming a day??.. Right now I'm consuming 1400 a day with 30 min of cardio. I don't eat back my exercise calories. Im looking to lose at least 1.5 or 2 pounds a week!
Thanx for any feedback!!

When you put your stats into MFP, how many calories did it give you? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_guided

Current height & weight? Activity level (outside of 30 minutes of cardio)? 30 minutes of cardio EVERY day? How intense (what do you mean by "cardio")?

1640 was what it recommended. Current weight is 257. Height is 5'3 I walk on treadmill 30 min everyday. I'm just starting out so I'm taking it slow.

Sounds like a fair place to start. You have a lot of calories on board to fuel the difference, but at 5'-3" you're relatively economical to fuel. Do that for 2-4 weeks and see what weight loss results, then adjust accordingly. It isn't a precise science.

That's probably a good goal to start with. Try it out for 4-6 weeks and track your progress. If your results aren't matching up with expectations, adjust 100 calories one way or the other and try again.
