Air popped snacks

It looks like a lot of people turn towards popcorn or rice cakes for snacks. I read a study which shows easily digest food, or air popped food, leads to weight gain when compared to their counterparts. Apparently due to the fact these foods are easier to digest, the body uses less calories, thus causing weight gain.
Anyone have any experience with this?

They still have similar thermic effects. Worrying about it in the long run has such little significance. I would not worry about the calories burnt digested eating these foods. They just lack fiber, but are still just carbs, just like a piece of white bread would be digested.

For a year i eat every night 80 gram of popcorn
    Air-popped

It is all about calories in versus calories out. As long as i have a deficit i will lose weight. Air popcorn eating and all
