Hello fellow MyFitness Pal Community,
So I workout at least 3 times a week for an hour, I drink ~32 oz. of H2O during my workout, but I find myself STARVING after I am done. I eat dinner 2 hours before working out. I have tried protein shakes and bars after, but they just make me more hungry. Anyone have some advice?? Thanks!

Are you eating enough? Are you following MFP's calories, including eating back exercise calories, or are you using TDEE? How much are you trying to lose per week? Also, if possible, save some calories for post workout snack.

If you know you're starving AFTER you work out, eat after you work out. I can't work out after i eat, and it takes about an hour for me to have an appetite after i work out, which gives me enough time to prepare supper so it's done by the time I'm ravenous. Also, @loulamb7 has some good info.

it seems the answer is obvious lol

i work out between breakfast (which is pretty light most of the time) and lunch. after i workout, im starving, so i time my food around the gym lol

I think it depends on what time you are working out and how you plan your meals. I typically workout at 7pm, so I eat a small dinner & save enough cals to either have a protein shake or bar with a glass of milk afterwards. I don't want to eat a big meal before bed.

However, if you are working out right after work, I'd eat a protein bar/shake late afternoon and eat dinner afterwards. Focus on eating slow and fill up on veggies.

Protein helps me. I keep pre measured bags of high protein nut mix and /or hard boiled eggs on hand for post workout. I also guzzle about 32 oz of water after I work out. Sometimes I think what I'm perceiving as hunger is really thirst.
