I wound up in the hospital on Christmas day needing emergency surgery. Turned out to be a twisted ovary. I lost the other ovary 10 years ago to the exact same thing. I wasn't in menopause yet. Recently some labs done by my primary dr. showed I was not in menopause and my one remaining ovary was fully functional. Since I lost that on Christmas I was thrown instantly into medical menopause. What can I expect??? So far two weeks out from surgery and I don't feel any different at all. I'm hoping I'll be like my mom. She said she never had a single solitary symptom ever.
Also could use some active girl friends here on the site!!!

Am looking for info on post menopausal issues to watch for in exercise. Maybe there aren't any once you get thru menopause, hopefully.

Well I think you should be careful in the recovery period.

Other than that ...progressive resistance and cardio should be of no issue and beneficial to body composition

Is your doctor advising any hormonal treatment?

Definitely do strength training now. So good for us. And cardio as well.
