What's the perfect balance of foods for after a workout? Any suggestions?

Fruit and some sort of protein. Post workout is one of the few times where all of that sugar in fruit is recommended, and of course, protein to rebuild.

Protein drink, bar, coconut water, water. Those are my favorites.

I often go with protein powder and creotine in soy milk followed by either nuts and berries or nut butter and no sugar added jelly on a bagel thin. It provides a nicely balanced but quick calorie boost for post workout.

Banana or apple with peanut butter or vanilla yogurt with walnuts and cinnamon are my two favorite.

I have my big meals right after I workout. Usually a bagel with cream cheese and lox in the morning and whatever I cooked for dinner in the evening. I eat my snack before I workout. That being said. In the morning, the snack is homemade greek yogurt with honey and a black coffee, and in the afternoons/evenings it's some kind of fruit (mangoes, pomegranates, dragonfruit, and strawberries being my favorites).

I usually have my protein powder w/ water or milk and some fruit, mostly banana. Or I blend frozen berries in my shake.
