Hi, I'm Cathy...long, long ago, in a galaxy far away, I used MFT mainly for the food tracking feature. I did lose weight, but it has been years since I used MFT. In early 2014, I successfully lost 30 pounds and have kept it off since then, even though I often binge on high cal/carb foods. I'm in my early 70s and really don't want the logical health problems that will surely arise or worsen if I stay at this weight (I'm 5' 4", weigh 150).

During my very low carb months which created the 30 pound loss, my blood sugar fell to normal, my cholesterol levels and blood pressure improved, and (blush) I looked a lot better in family pictures. Now I'm ready to lose another 20 pounds, to 130. Maybe I'll want to go even lower, but I don't want to look haggard or skeletal, so I'm stopping there to reevaluate how I feel and look. I did weigh just under 120 until I had my first baby over 40 years ago, but I was a young woman then. I don't know if that's realistic or even the best weight for someone my age.

So, I started keeping track of food a couple of days ago, and downloaded the app today. It still remembers my weight from that long ago time I last entered it, which was 7 pounds higher than my ongoing weight the last couple of years. I've posted in another discussion the I need advice on editing my start weight to my true weight, can't figure out how to do this. But today, im going through and posting what I ate yesterday and so far today.

I know for sure that food diaries are an incentive to me to be more disciplined in what I buy and how much I eat. So I'm off! Journal my food daily, eat like a sensible person, and get into that size 10 dress! And, not least, get healthier and stronger instead of sicker and weaker as I age.

I'm glad to be here, and really don't want to fail at this!
