Fitbit Flex Help?

Okay, so I just got my fitbit flex a few days ago and love it, except I'm having trouble dealing with the accuracy of it. I noticed, laying in bed while watching television before I've fallen asleep, it's counted alot of steps I haven't actually taken just from moving around. When I checked my fitness pal app that is synced with my fitbit, it has added the calories burned from the supposed steps I've taken and allotted more room for food..

How can I prevent this is my first question? I don't want to be mislead and getting credit for steps I didn't take. Is there anyway to restart your steps when you wake up so it's actually accurate?

Also, are my steps counted as my calorie burn in fitbit?

If someone could just give me a run down of rules to follow when using fitbit with mfp together and how they/most people make it work for them? Thanks!!

it's an accelerometer so measures movement not steps as such. It took some effort to move enough for it to detect which it accounts for as calories. So I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.

It also really helps to have it set as being worn on your "dominant" hand but actually wearing it on your non-dominant hand. So for example, I'm right handed and wear it on my left hand, but I have it set in fitbit as being on my dominant hand. This helps filter out some of the random activity that it might pick up from regular arm movements.
