so remember when....

Remember when you signed up here, not knowing anybody, how to count calories, how to being? Remember when you were scared, but you jumped in? Remember going "OREOS HAVE HOW MANY CALORIES? OH MY GOD"? Remember grabbing the apple when the cake was right there? Remember waking up at 6am to go for that walk that you really didn't want to do? Remember the sweat, the tears, the break downs, the disappointment and the uplifting excitement? Remember when you ate that comfort food and it didn't comfort you? Remember when you looked in the mirror and saw a difference? Remember when you didn't? Remember when your jeans were a little too loose and that belly felt a little more tight? Remember when you drunk that bottle of water when you really wanted a mountain dew? Remember when you twisted your ankle doing yoga? Remember the long days, the hunger, the counting, the exhaustion?

So do you remember?
And you are still here, and still breathing, and still trying. Wow. You, are the definition of motivation.

So remember when you didn't give up? Me too.

For me it all started with a Fit Bit received on Christmas two years ago. I didn't like the calorie counting on that site and found MFP. Still here and rocking the same fit bit. This morning I ran to the gym at 5:00 AM in 25 deg. weather and did a nautilus set before running home to eat fruit & oatmeal. I also remember the old me - no exercise two eggs, cheese, bacon, two slices of buttered toast & jam. Then a biscuit at 9:30 followed by a large combo at McDonald's for lunch. Two Scotch followed by two helpings of dinner loaded potatoes bread washed down with 4 beers. So glad I am still here with my new friends that are becoming my old friends. It truly is a new lifestyle, a good one!

Amazing post! It's been about a year and a half, down almost 60 pounds (maintaining for about a year or so, but looking to lose those last 10 lbs. by Spring!) and I've almost forgotten the 'old' me. This has become such a way of life for me, and I try to tell everyone who will listen how simple, not easy, the process is. For whatever serendipitous reason, I found this site just when I was ready for it. There are so many here who have come so far. And I loved all the reminders you've given us of just what we've accomplished, and continue to every day. Thank you!

    love this - thanks Op!

I remember all those moments lol... AND hiding my diary at first so no one could see what I actually ate every day; and spending an hour one day, panicking over whether to log all those potato chips or not :'(

and I remember the spectacular day I hit my goal weight..... :)

and I learned that complacency = flunking maintenance! But that thanks to everything I learned here on the way from other MFPs, that i'll be back at my goal weight shortly - with yet another lesson learned! :)

Thanks for the motivation. Yesterday I had an okay day, towards nighttime i thought of having a margarita. Glad I didn't. Have a great day.
