Which is more accurate with my calories burned?

I have a question I hope someone can help me with....I walked the other night for 40 minutes with the Endomondo tracking my calories and I burned a WHOLE lot more than I did last night by what the treadmill said. The Endo has my weight in it and I guess it knows how fast I walk but my treadmill does not know my weight so I guess anyone (big or small) who walked on it would burn the same amount of calories. So would that put the Endomondo to be more accurate than the treadmill?

I would have to go with the The Endomondo since it has your weight and all programmed in.

To sanity check either one of them Runners World suggest the following formula for net calories burned walking:

,30 x your body weight in lbs x distance in miles (.53 for gross calories expended)

Generally, anything that has your personal stats and measures heart rate will be a better reflection :) Keep in mind, no one thing is perfect at measurement, nor are the cals in your food. Don't get too consumed!

Here's another argument: On my elliptical it has my stats in it. and so does MFP. But the calorie burned difference is quite significant. I"ll get like 400 on MFP record but I only get 180 on the elliptical. I can try to use the heart rate monitor but i'd just be another measurement.

Just throwing that out there since she mblocker mentioned the difference between her two examples as well.

I use the elliptical at the gym several times a week for about 16 min. and I don't remember the exact # but it was no where near as much as MFP says. The gym machine has my weight and knows the resistance I'm using where MFP doesn't ask for the resistance or weight so I would not be inclined to agree with MFP but then I wonder if MFP uses our weight from our weigh in?
