Rest days for maintaining muscle while losing?

I know that you need rest days while building muscle, but are they necessary when you're strength training to maintain muscle while losing weight?

Rest days are important, yes. If you don't take rest days, you'll find the strength training will suck even more than it already does on a cut.0

Yes, while you may not be building new muscles, the muscles you do have (on a deficit while weight training) still need to repair themselves and that requires rest.0
