First week weight loss

Hey. I was wondering if anyone else lost a big amount in their first or second week? I weighed myself this morning and it says i lost 4.5 lbs in 5 days. I do follow my recommended calorie intake for the day. Just wondering if this is normal?

It happens that way for a lot of people. I was a weight loss leader for a very well-known organization for a while and I saw it happen all the time. It's very individual. It is attributed to the loss of water from the body. Depending on how much a person weighs, that kind of loss might happen for a couple weeks, but, for most people, after that, the weight loss is less spectacular.

Today is day #11 for me and I have gone from 240 to 231 this morning.
Can anyone give me an idea of when and how much this will slow down?
Its so great now, but I'm hoping I have at least 2 more weeks at this rate!
What was your weight loss time schedule?

My first month, I lost about 10 pounds. From what I hear, this is very common and mostly water weight. Every other month after my first month has been a slower, steady weight loss of 4 or 5 pounds. How much actual weight you lose will depend on your current weight and how many calories you eat, but you can expect it to slow down after you lose that initial water.
