Why is it the daily calorie goal of my Fitbit is so drastically different from my MFP daily calorie goal?
I wonder if I have the wrong lifestyle setting or something? I have my lifestyle setting on MFP as sedentary because my day job is secretarial... (my night job is retail)
I generally hit 8-10K steps per day. Fitbit is saying I should be eating 1700cals per day for a 2lb per week loss but MFP is saying 1400 for the same.
Anybody else have such a large discrepancy between the two? I've been off track every day ANYWAY but I am gearing up towards a stricter count (would like to amp up the speed of my loss - not by a ridiculous amount, but .2-.5lb loss per week is driving me nuts. Haha) so I need to decide which number I stick with! LOL!
Also, I did do a forum search before posting this and didn't see any posts of a similar nature. Hopefully I didn't just miss something (though it's likely I did).

Fitbit knows your activity level, if linked to MFP it would be cranking up your daily calories here once you pass about 3000 steps.
Most people link them and don't look at the food intake on Fitbit0 -
I got 370 extra cals today from ~7000 steps over sedentary0

Use MFP for your calorie goal.
When you set up your Fitbit, did you set it for the 2lb weight loss goal also? If not, that's probably part of why you're seeing a discrepancy.

I'm tech challenged as well. But syncing mfp with fitbit is easy peasy. just go into apps and select fitbit. Ignore fitbits calorie goal and follow mfp. Fitbit for exercise and mfp for food/calories.
Trying to follow 2 paths to the same destination will just end up confusing you.0 -
