Flavoured Water (Fizzy or Still).

I know it will never be as good as regular water, but is flavoured water something you should avoid?

I read so many conflicting stories, how it's as bad as fizzy pops etc, or that its perfectly fine.

I do like the stuff, but am considering just ditching it for the pure fact I read so many different stories.

Help!!!!!

I'm guessing you're in the UK, so I don't know what you actually consider "flavoured water." Here in the US, I regularly buy/drink carbonated water sweetened with aspartame or Splenda. I love it and consider it a tasty way to get my daily fluid intake. I don't see what would be so bad about them unless the carbonation gives you GI discomfort (or you just don't like belching...I can get up to about the letter D).

    Yep, UK based :)

I love the stuff, it's completely replaced my unhealthy addiction to Coke etc.

I just wonder whether I'm replacing one evil with another.

For example, the bottle I have here contains - Carbonated Water , Apple Juice from Concentrate (2.0%) , Citric Acid , Flavourings , Preservatives (Potassium Sorbate, Dimethyl Dicarbonate) , Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrates) , Sweeteners (Acesulfame K, Sucralose) .

Apart from the water, and apple juice, none of it sounds all that healthy haha!

As long as you check for sugar content (some flavoured water can have A LOT of sugar), I don't see anything wrong with drinking it.

There's a lot of misinformation pertaining to artificial sweeteners and other "scary" ingredients. Consumed in reasonable amounts, they won't harm you. Many of the so-called "studies" severely overdose lab rats in order to achieve the desired result.
