Depressed even though I'm doing well

Ever since I started my duet and exercise I've been doing well but whenever my diet doesn't go as I planned or my workout routine is slightly messed up I've been getting insanely mad or upset to the point where I feel like I don't wanna do anything at all.
Even when I'm still under my calories for the day. Anyone else experienced this weird feeling?
It sucks and I hate it.

Yep, your body can do just about anything you ask it to, it's your mind that needs convincing. It's normal to have mood fluctuations while going through any physical transformation.

Good I don't feel as crazy then. I guess I've just felt like I'm uder so much stress keeping my diet as perfect as I can, that I freak out whenever other things fall out of place.
When I have a specific plan that doesn't work out it really upsets me.

This is tough to control. I've dealt with depression for years, and a lot from my diet, unfortunately I've dealt with it through eating... I know, a negative cycle. Now I am back to trying to lose the weight again.

It will catch up with most people at some point, it's just the way it is. Celebrate your victories, accept and learn from your defeats but remember that you're still moving forward!

I've had the same thing happen. Way back this morning I stepped on the scale and saw that my loss was much less than it should have been given my deficit. I was pissed at myself for about an hour or so, then remembered that it was me that put me in that situation. Don't beat yourself up, you are going to slip. Everyone does.

Yep, the mental challenge of losing weight is the tough part for a lot of us. I don't have any great advice but you're not alone. I just try to remind myself that time is going to pass anyway and the only way to reach my goal is to stick it out. Sometimes I have to give myself a stern talking to! :p

I'm sorry that happened to you this morning, I know that's a rough way to start a day.
I guess it's easier to blame someone else than it is to accept responsibility yourself.
I do have hard time with that too, whenever I lose control of a plan I always look for something to place blame at. I guess that's one more thing for me to try and control.
    I appreciate the response :)

One of the biggest risks of dieting is the risk of developing an eating disorder. If you are 'getting insanely mad or upset' then you might want to re-evaluate your head space when it comes to food and dieting, before it develops into something more.

I have a history of depression in my genetics that I've usually been able to control through my birth control (which regulates my hormones)
But I guess it still gets the better of me when I'm stressed put, for example dieting.
I'm really sorry that's something your going through as well! Depression is so hard to cope with while your trying to lose weight or be healthy, whenever I go through a depression day I feel like I just wanna crawl in bed and not move, and I don't want to cook anything healthy and end up eating comfort food.

If there is ever anything I could do to help you out please feel free to message or friend request me. I understand the struggle.
Today I'm giving in a little and giving up on my exercise routine that got ruined, but I'm still trying to stay under my calorie goal for the day. I think a half step is okay for me on a hard day.

I really appreciate the response! These forums are so great and everyone is so nice and supportive, it's been incredible so far!

I hadn't thought of that at all, but it's definitely worth the consideration and something for me to stay alert of.
This was a very thoughtful post, I really appreciate it.
Any tips as to where I should start? Or any good literature I could read for that?

I'm so relieved that you didn't take offence! It is something that everyone in the process of losing weight should be aware of.

Did you go through the screening tool? That will give you an idea of how at risk you might be right now. Beyond that, I would suggest making sure that you are getting adequate NET calories to fuel your body (at least 1200 calories, and no more than 1000 calorie deficit). Don't demand perfection. If you find yourself pre-occupied with food, getting upset with yourself for not sticking to a strict diet, obsessed with the scale, over-exercising, or anything else that sends up flags in your head, you should seek professional advice. In the meantime, there are lots of articles to read on the NEDA website.

I could see where some people may take offense, it's a delicate subject alot of people don't like to talk about, but I know you were just being helpful and giving my medical history it sounds like something I should be aware of. I appreciate the links. I'll be sure to read them and keep a watch on my emotions when it comes to that stuff.

Good luck in your own personal goals! And again thank you for the response!

I know it probably wasn't easy to get on and help me out with that answer, it's really cool that you posted it though and didn't shy away.
