Eating Below BMR?

I've been at this close to 100 days now. I've been obsessively following reddit loseit and these forums. Well anyway one thing I found is that I shouldn't eat below my bmr. But the bmr calculator on this very site says i should be eating a minimum of 1919. Well when I fill in my info and goals it gives me 1650 for a goal. I'm 5"10 207 28 year old male. I have it set to sedentary and take the estimate of exercise and halve it. Am I going about this wrong? I don't want to burn out or hurt myself in the process of getting healthier.

You will be fine at those numbers. I'm 5'7" was 200 am 157. I went from 1750 cal a day to current 1500. It's been 7-8 months feeling good.0

I only eat my bmr 3 days a week, the other 4 I'm under. Just don't eat under 1500 since you're a guy.0

Cool thanks. I moved it to lightly actvie and that is roughly bmr for me and probably more realistic for me. Id rather go slower than burn out0 -
1919 too high, 1650 is more accurate.0

a) that isn't a true statement - BMR is just the biggest component of your energy expenditure it has no special significance in itself.
b) practically anyone setting MFP to sedentary and aiming for 1 lb/week weight loss will have a target before exercise calories that is below their BMR.

Based on your numbers, I'm calculating that you've set your loss to ~1.5 lbs per week?
It may work for you, it may not. Your body will tell you. If you're in this for the long haul, you'll likely find it more comfortable to eat a little bit more, perhaps closer to 1900-2000, plus some of your workout calories.

Yeah I'm gonna do that. U got about 32lbs to lose to get to a normal bmi but I really don't care how long it takes once I get below 200 which I'm kinda in a hurry to do0
