Weight Gain Week One

Week 1 is usually a great week yet I've gained .6. It's frustrating. I ate well overall, noted improvements I need to make (ex. 3 days I didn't hit the calorie goal, 1 day didn't drink 6-8 glasses of water). I'm not giving up but would love to hear some suggestions. If this happens again next week...the scale might be flung out the window!

Have a read of this post http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide/p1
Logging accuracy is the most important part of using MFP to lose weight and there are so many incorrect entries in the database.
Even when using the bar code scanner, check that the entry is correct against the package because it often isnt

The post Chris linked is a good place to start.
Firstly, do you weigh everything you log with a scale? It's important that you use a scale for accuracy.
Secondly, have you double checked the stats you entered into MFP? Things like setting your activity level too high can mean that your calorie goal is higher than needed.
Although having a goal to drink 6-8 glasses of water is great from a health standpoint, it wont affect your weight loss enough to really notice much.
Also, bear in mind that weight fluctuates naturally, sometimes by as much as 5lbs daily. Are you weighing at the same time every day/week, in the same place/same scales and wearing the same clothes? Any of these things can cause inaccuracies.
If you open up your diary people will be able to offer you better advice0 -
.6 lbs is normal weight fluctuations. You can't expect to see much of a change in one week. Get a food scale, weigh everything that goes on your mouth, eat at a deficit and wait 4-5 weeks. If after then you are still gaining or not losing then adjust your calorie goals. GL.0

The previous posters have already given you some really good advice. Weight everything, measure everything, etc.
Then just keep doing it and relax. This takes time. You aren't going to see much difference in a week. For example, I only notice a drop once every 3 weeks or so. It takes that long for the body to process and catch up.
The takeaway is don't give up and don't quit.0 -
Did you begin exercise as well? Because anytime you begin exercise or start a new one or increase your current exercise you'll retain water for muscle repair.0
