Moderate carb ~ 2500 calorie diet

I've seen it recommended on here for macros to calculate protein and fat minimums from a gram perspective, then fill in the rest with carbs. However, I need to keep a cap on my carb intake for medical reasons, and that advice would lead to too many carbs for me. I think 250-260g of carbs is about the maximum number I should be eating, which works out to about 40% of my 2550 maintenance level.

That leaves me with 60% for protein and carbs. I'm 5'8" 125 lbs, so my protein requirements are not that high. Just 20% of my calories as protein works out to about 1 gram per lb of bodyweight, which I know should be plenty more than needed. This would also mean about 110 grams of fat, which should also be a lot more than needed. I'm curious what others think of this macro split, or if there are others who are doing something similar, especially with a calorie intake close to this amount.

Ask your medical team for more specifics about how many carbs is "moderate carb."

That's probably a good idea. To be honest, my doctor mentioned trying low carb, though he didn't elaborate.

Protein and fat are minimums; you can fill in the rest with whatever you want, including any combination of protein, fat, and carbs.

For the last week, I had ~120g protein, ~90g fat, ~170g carb (but ~35g were fiber), for 1,950 calories.

Better: 35% carbs, 25% Protein, 40% Healthy Fats.

    40C / 25P / 35 F would be one combo, starting from the 40C. 35 F is pretty middle of the road.
