motivation needed - normal weight obesity

I am having a hard time with staying on any diet. I am 5'4" and weigh 143-146 lbs. This is in the normal range for my height. However I have a body fat percentage of 35% which is classed as obese. I've calculated my calories to lose weight and if I have it at 1200 net I'll lose about 0.4 lbs a week. I find I'm starving trying to eat a 1200 calorie diet so I'm constantly going over. My weight just jumps between 143 and 146. I'm at a loss on how to lose anything. I can't stay motivated when nothing changes. My measurements always stay the same too but probably because I end up binging daily cause I'm so hungry.

Where am I going wrong?
How do people stay motivated with such minimal possible weight loss?

I would really recomend that you build muscle, this will hit your body composition from both sides. So, if you have a GYm, check out new rules of lifting for Women, or look into body weight exercises (Push-ups, pull-ups, squats, Lunges, Planks ...) and eat healthy. This should change your body composition, you may not lose any weight, but it will get you closer to where you really want to be.

In a word - exercise. Do some exercise every day and burn off a few hundred calories, then you get to eat them back. You still net 1200 calories, but you get to eat more, and you get fitter!

I have a similar problem: normal weight for my height but want to lose body fat. As an experienced dieter, I know that I can't keep to a 1200 calorie diet and that I can with 1400: it's what I am aiming for on week 2 of my diet plan as I have now lost the initial rapid kg of a first week of moderation. I agree with the advice on exercise and a healthy diet and wish you good luck.
