Over the last 16 years of my post Marine Corps career, I allowed myself to gain 5 lbs every year. I was up to 226.5 lbs, when my daughter intervened. Since then, I've been working at this and have lost about 65 lbs, and on my way to 150 lbs. This application has made me consciously aware at what I was eating, and it works. I have gone from a 40 inch waist back to a 32 inch. I weigh what I did in 1986, and I feel great.
At my 40th high school reunion, classmates were amazed at how I looked and kept asking me what the secret was. I told there, "The secret is that there is NO secret." Diet and exercise, coupled with not putting unhealthy things into your body.
As with everything, it is easy to blame others or situations in our lives, but until YOU make the decision to change YOUR life, nothing will change. I have learned that over eating is no different than smoking, substance abuse, etc.

Awesome!! Thank you for serving! and congrats on your weight loss.

Some people need to over eat to gain weight, however. I loved everything you have said except for that little part. Over eating is different than smoking and substance abuse for some.
