Fitbit connection to MFP

I set my Fitbit up to connect with this site. I have a goal of 10,000 a day. Most days I make it, with some exceptions. It has been working fairly good with this site and showing my steps and calories burned. Some days it takes longer for anything to show up though. I was wondering if I had to make my 10,000 steps first before it records anything.

Not sure if this is the right place to put it but any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, it should sync automatically throughout the day, or when you open the Fitbit app on your phone.

If you're syncing the Fitbit to a computer, then it should update shortly after it syncs to the computer. I usually see it within a few minutes.

In the MFP app on my phone, I see my step progress on the home page. On a computer, you'll need to go to My Home>Exercise, and you should see Fitbit Calorie Adjustment with a small letter i next to it. Click on the i to see when the last sync was. You will not see steps taken on MFP on the computer.

There were some significant syncing issues shortly after the holiday, and a handful of folks are still seeing a delay with things updating - mine wasn't showing step info till mid-afternoon yesterday, even though food was going over to Fitbit. My guess is there's still a bit of a backlog being worked through.

There's a Fitbit Users group here on MFP: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users if you'd like to join it. The FAQ there is really helpful.

Thanks a lot. Yes, I see the Fitbit users area. I was thinking I should have put it there after.

Most of us do hang out on the main boards, too, so posting here is fine.

Hopefully my answer helped you :) Read through that FAQ a few times - there's lots of good info in it that may be useful for you in the future.
