What are your thoughts/experience on using detox tea or water for weight loss? Any diy recipes using green tea?

Most of the "detox" teas contain either natural laxatives or diuretics. They cause you to drop water weight or waste very quickly but do not help with fat loss.
Be careful with teas that contain senna. They really shouldn't be used for more than a week.

"Detox tea" is socially acceptable laxative abuse. Using laxatives when you do not medically need them is harmful in a variety of ways, including promoting vitamin malabsorption, and training your gut to be lazy, thus ending up with you being dependent on the laxatives to have 'normal' bowel movements.
It's worse than useless.
If your kidneys and liver are doing their job, there is nothing to 'detox'. If your kidneys and liver aren't working, you need a doctor - not a detox.0 -
