Hello my name is Apple and I live in Staten Island NY. Im new to Fitness Pal and am looking for positive people which im sure i could find. ive been overweight all my life and this is the year i turn 30 and am seriously looking to make some huge changes in my life. the only thing is i seriously lack motivation and any idea of how to lose weight and gain a healthy lifestyle. Any pointers from the fitness pal community would be great. Thanks in advance.

You have to start little by little. Make little changes so your daily routine. For example, if you drink two cans of soda a day, replace one of the cans with a glass of water. Then maybe a month or two later you'll drop the other can for another glasss of water. It's a marathon and not a race so take your time and be deligent with your changes

Hi! I also have been overweight my whole life. I've lost 10 pounds just to gain 20. I was just tired of feeling like crap and hating what I saw in the mirror and one day I decided to join a boot camp in June and have since lost 20 pounds, dropped lots of inches off of me and I'm down 2 pant sizes. I still have 40 more to go, but I'm in no rush to lose the weight and not putting too much pressure on myself like I used to. Like the previous poster said, replace all things that you know are not good and you'll see a huge difference. Just take baby steps because if you just drastically change everything over night, most likely you will not succeed. Good Luck and believe you can do this. Lets's do it!

Slow and steady wins the race. I agree with the above posters, make small changes. Try doing some walking, even if it's only around the block, park as far away as you can at the grocery store, take the stairs instead of the elevator, that kind of thing. After awhile it will get easier and easier. You can do it, you'll feel great! Good luck!
