Hi everyone!
What's your favorite dessert to work into your macros while still in a deficit? When I'm low on calories left for the day I have a few different ice cream treats that are around 60 calories or I'll have a cookie, but I love hearing about what other people enjoy.
Can't wait to hear some ideas!

Also... doesn't have to be low cal! My FAVORITE dessert when I have the room is frozen yogurt from a froyo shop! With sour patch kids or vanilla almonds as toppics. Yum!0

I like Skinny Cow ice creams, Weight Watchers snack size fudge bars, and popcorn, particularly kettle corn, for my everyday go-to desserts. My favorite desserts are cakes and custards of basically any kind, but I rarely keep them around for obvious reasons. But for special occasions they are definitely my favorite!0

Mostly quality chocolate of varying flavors. I like ice cream but it makes me really sick on the stomach (not lactose intolerant). I can have it homemade so we think it is some additive in the commercial ones I've tried.
I love good pastries but again quality counts. I don't understand why people like those commercial honey buns with the icing that has the consistency of plastic. Pastry with cheese is a big weakness.
Cheesecake. Real cheesecake (which means without any ridiculous graham crust) and no sauce. A nice dense not too sweet authentic cheesecake.

I also like the low fat ice cream treats - Skinny Cow, WW, store brand. Edy's slow churned is also good.
I also like fat free sugar free pudding, or I'll just have a cookie or snack size candy bar
Or something like a fruit compote, jam or honey on 45 calorie toast0 -

I like Ghiradelli dark chocolate squares - 60-70 calories and I'm not tempted to eat more than one serving.0

I get alter-eco dark caramel truffles, 1 is 70 calories and soooo delicious. I also get Justin's peanut butter cup mini's, one is also 70 cals. Or, if I'm having a friend over I'll split a two pack, one is 110 cals...also, I love talenti ice creams (had some last night!) but I weigh out my exact 102 g's0

Talenti. One serving is usually plenty for me, and around 200 calories.0

I use sugar free jelly and fat free yoghurt, pop in the fridge for a few hours and then it's like a mousse.0

My treat is a glass of Fairlife's chocolate milk. 140 calories for an 8oz glass. It is sssoo rich and yummy but much better for you than other chocolate milks.0

I like vita tops with fresh berries and light cool whip or WW ice cream treats- 110 cal or so excellent- when only a few calories left- sugar free puddings or SF jello with light cool whip and berries-0

If I'm trying to behave but still have dessert, I like the Fiber One desserts. Their cookies are good for 150 calories, or their brownie bars are 90 calories. I like the cheesecake bars, but let's be honest-it's nothing like cheesecake.

I'm not a huge dessert person, but I always have Dreyer's slow-churned ice cream (100 calories for a 1/2 cup of vanilla) and/or sherbet on hand at home for when I do want something sweet. I also keep very high-quality dark chocolate in my desk drawer at work. A little bit of very good, very dark (72% cacao) chocolate goes a long way in satisfying my sweet craving and is really not very many calories (40-160 depending on how much I decide to eat) so it can be extremely easy to fit in, even on a pretty limited calorie diet (I eat only 1200-1400 calories/day).0

Dude, I cut a Tim Horton's muffin in 1/4's today and ate one. 100 calories. You can make ANY dessert a diet dessert if you eat just a little bit of it!0

I'm bulking right now, but even when cutting my desserts are about 250-350 calories. A Fiber One brownie or fruit with whipped cream is hardly a small snack, let alone a real dessert. I was on a protein cheesecake kick for a couple of months trying out about a million flavors, but ice cream is probably my favorite dessert. I'll either go for the Dreyer's Slow Churned ice cream or Halo Top. And I don't think I've ever eaten just one serving of ice cream. Always more than that, and always with toppings. Other things I've done are homemade s'mores (or a Reese's s'more to mix it up) and 3-2-1 mugcakes.0

I'm not a big sweets person, but I do find mini ice cream sandwiches (90-110 cals), Edy/Dreyer slow churned (<120 cal for 1/2 cup, a squirt of choc syrup or spoon of jam still keeps it under 200), and fun size chocolates (you can eat as many as you have calories budgeted) are my sub-200 calorie "real" sweets favorites that never disappoint when I need/want a little dessert.0

Low fat ice cream doesn't do it for me. It usually leaves me wanting. When I have a dessert I usually make sure it's the best and tastiest I can manage to find. If I'm spending calories on dessert it needs to be extra good, otherwise it isn't worth it for me. Low fat desserts are just a waste of calories to me, no matter how many calories I save on them (unless it's something that is originally low fat like granita or roasted pears)

Then you should definitely eat full fat ice cream. But some people (like me) prefer low fat because dairy fat is nasty phlegm producing ick. I've eaten low fat ice cream since I was child, although then it was just called ice milk.0 -
Grilled peaches and grilled pineapple with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Avocado blended with good cocoa powder and a litte bit of honey or agave to sweeten- looks like chocolate pudding0

Yes, if that's what you've always liked then that's what you should have. I actually can't do lower fat versions of most things except for semi skimmed milk (which I use to make a killer hot chocolate drink with cinnamon and espresso!)
Well, at least I'm lucky that I don't mind artificial sweeteners one bit, so that helps my calories sometimes in drinks. In baked goods though, they just ruin the color and texture which is a shame.0 -
I don't really have a favorite, I get on kicks where a thing is my favorite for a little while and then I'm over it.
I haven't found much advantage to diet versions of desserts, caloric or otherwise. My experience for the most part are the portions are just smaller in some way (e,g. more air whipped in ice creams, more leavening agents or air puffed into cakes/cookies, etc).
And often the lower fat desserts have little caloric difference to their full fat counterparts to make the difference in taste worth it to me. And paying a premium for air or low fat isn't appealing either.
I have better luck making my own "lower calorie" desserts and shaving off calories where I can, usually by using a little less butter/oil and sugar, and a lot less nuts/chocolate chips/etc than recipes call for, as well as making the portions a little smaller.
But for storebought desserts and sweet treats, I just buy whatever I fancy at the time and watch my portions. There's so much selection to choose from, so many fun things on the market, limited edition Oreo flavors and seasonal variations of goodies, it's a joy I don't want to give up just to save, in my view, a near-neglible amount of calories.
That said, I do find SF Jello (gelatin) dessert to be a worth the trade. If I was a fan of sugar-candy (virtually fat-free things like suckers, etc) I would definitely seriously consider switching to the SF versions. But that's only a no-brainer to me because I'm not a fan of sugar that hasn't been tempered with fat as it is.0
