So I synced my fitbit to mfp. It adds calories based on my activity with fitbit. Does anyone actually use these extra calories or do I just ignore them?

I eat most or all of my fitbit adjustment, and I've lost weight consistently.0

I don't know what other folks do, but I'm shooting for a 500-calorie deficit most days, so when I see the adjustment for my Fitbit activity, I adjust my consumption to make sure I'm staying right around that deficit number. So yes - I use the extra calories if I'm feeling hungry, but also to make sure my deficit doesn't go too high.0

I tend to ignore them if I can.0

I work a desk job and don't get lots of steps during the week unless it is my week to walk the dog (husband and I switch off). I am set to sedentary on MFP, so I start earning calories once I am at around 3,000 steps. For days where I am less than 7,000 steps, I'll have an extra chocolate square (70 cals) or save them up the entire week for a drink on the weekend because those steps really didn't make me hungrier. For days where I am 15,000 + and actually put some energy into earning those, I do add to my food intake - usually 200 - 250 calories worth (even though fit bit will give me more like 400-500 calories on those days).
So, I usually don't eat them all, because I like the bigger deficit. But I do add some of the calories back.0 -
I have been "eating back" my Fitbit adjustments since July and have found it to be very reliable.0

If I am hungry I'll eat them (or some of them) back. If not I don't. It's really dependent on the day and how I'm feeling.0

I ignore them.

Me too. That being said, I am less like to 'beat myself up' if I feel hungry enough to eat a few back. I look at the as 'flex' calories. Try NOT to use them but I've earned them in a way too.0 -
Now I have my activity level set to lightly active. Does it count that in the adjustment? Or would I be better off switching it to sedentary so its more reliable?0

I eat them all back and have lost weight at the rate I expected. I have a Fitbit One and wear it on my bra, so it's pretty accurate, and most of my exercise is step based (running and walking)0

I eat them back to avoid netting too few calories. MFP calories don't include exercise.0

Make sure you have enabled negative calorie adjustment. Then if you are not active enough to qualify for "lightly active" on any particular day, it will take calories off you. It's actually very motivating when you wake up with negative exercise calories already. I do little extra steps when ever I can, just to break even.0
