Exercise Rut

Who else finds themselves in an exercise rut during the winter months? I ran my final half marathon of the year in late October but continued outdoor running until December. I decided to rest a bit from running due to a sore right hip and knee. I thought I'd be fine doing workout videos and doing some walking, but I've found myself in an unmotivated rut. Perhaps it's because I'm goal-oriented and like training for something, or maybe the cold weather dampens my enthusiasm. All I know is my brain tells my butt to get in gear and my butt tells my brain to shut up. It's a constant battle.
I'm seriously considering a move to a somewhat warmer climate (I'm in the Northeast US)!

maybe you need to try something new...lifting, a spin class, yoga? Lifting would be great for your goal oriented brain, because you can keep track of weekly progress!0
