Hey all!
I'm not new but after falling off the bandwagon, forgetting my name and password and also the login details for my email, I decided to make a new profile. A fresh start is probably what I need anyway.
I'm Kathy, 33 and from Germany. Currently, I'm at 141kg / 310lb.
I'd lost quite a lot of weight (over 40kg) before, then gained it back due to illness. With MFP, I managed to lose over 10kg again before, so I'd like to get back in the saddle now.
Most of what I do is IIFYM, so no specific foods or rules to follow. The only thing I'll try to have an eye on is cutting down on carbs late in the day because I also have diabetes and thyroid issues and that's what my doctor recommended to help me with the weight loss. I'm also not good with uprooting everything at once, so I'm taking things step by step. Get my calorie intake back on track, cook more, change some daily routines - then join the local pool or a gym.
I joined MFP in January but this is by no means a NY resolution thing. Heck, with how much weight I have to lose, 2016 will only be the beginning anyway! My first goal along the way is to lose 10kg by April 18, which is when I'll go on my first cruise. I'm excited by would like less weight to carry while exploring.
Mostly I'm looking for people who don't take themselves too serious, just someone to talk with, share the everyday struggles, the weight loss achievements and the little NSV's with, but whose lives aren't completely taken over by food, fitness and macro-talk. I'm a huge bookworm, a total fangirl of various fandoms (Grimm anyone? ) and a crazy cat lady among other things. I love video games and traveling. I'll post about things that happen in my daily life or just randomly talk about other things in my status just as often as I'll mention weight loss-related things, so be aware. I'm looking for old veterans to learn from just as much as newbies like myself to share the struggle and learning process with.
If any of this appeals to you, feel free to add and / or message me.
Disclaimer: Please don't add if you deliberately use unhealthy weight loss methods, i.e. a too large calorie deficit, bulimia, drugs, etc. It's your life and your decision but I don't want to be a part of that.
Thank you!
