Fit at 40

Hi all,
My name is Jessica. I am nearing my 40th birthday (gasp) so I am here to make it the best year possible. I have used MyFitnessPal before but this is my first time posting on the forums. I have been slightly overweight most of my adult life. I am fairly active and took up running a couple of years ago, which I loved, but had to stop due to a tear in my calf. Aging sucks! So here I am at 172 lbs (my highest weight).
Keeping myself accountable through tracking is the only thing that has ever worked for me. I one of those people who used to think she could out exercise eating. Not true. I have lost the same 20 lbs multiple times, but something changes (I can't exercise, new job, stress) and I end up gaining those 20 lbs back. This time I want to lose it for life by making good choices and eating the not-so-good stuff in moderation.
