Looking for back friendly core exercises

I have a lower back injury. It is a few years old now but I find crunches and situps really hurt.my lower back. I have been doing planks but am wondering if anyone else has an yhing else to try while keeping my back at ease??

Try hanging leg raises or captains chair leg raises.0

Squats, deadlifts, pushups - all work the core.0

If you have a PT try the hanging leg raises/captains chair, otherwise wait until you have core strength before you do them. It is easy to put too much pressure on the lower back if your form is off.
If you can sign up for a yoga class that would be good as a start, make sure you let the instructor know your physical limitations.
Aqua fit if you have a pool offering the classes would be good. The water buoyancy and resistance would work well.
I actually found belly dancing really good for my abs and obliques.
Also look at some of the videos on YouTube. Start with easy ones then move to more challenging as you strengthen. There are quite a few all over body ones that start at 10 min.
